Statement of Intent

I grew up around my dad's boating workshop and seen it change overtime. It's old, and falling apart. The rusty junk piles get higher and prove to be an eyesore from the road. But up close tangled in their cables and wires is something beautiful and I wonder why it took this long for me to rediscover it.

I changed my original idea due to my schedule and lack of friends available to help out. BUT!
My new idea is about finding beauty and life in things that are mechanically obsolete and ugly. I would like to focus on engines and mechanical parts that are rusted.
I am not dead set on a layout for the book just yet because I would like to see in which direction my photos go. I was thinking about a simple hardback square with images. I don't want text or don't plan on it anyway. I have been looking at my parts books at work and in my dad's workshop and might be going in that direction but that would me I needed to include text. So, I will meditate on this for a bit before I make a decision.
I also have a transparency machine that views and zooms into transparencies of parts diagrams that I am going to see if I can snatch from my dad.
