Statement of Intent

I grew up around my dad's boating workshop and seen it change overtime. It's old, and falling apart. The rusty junk piles get higher and prove to be an eyesore from the road. But up close tangled in their cables and wires is something beautiful and I wonder why it took this long for me to rediscover it.

I am in the process of going threw my images some posted and sooo many that are not up here. I am thinking I should divide the book up into sections much like you would a catalog that separates o-rings, pumps, motors, and control boards however, they would be more like interior space, internal workings, wires, and employers. I have a few pictures of the guys that work in the shop that are interesting to me that I would like to share in the book as well.

These photos have not been altered as of yet.

The Boss Man

A bulletin board full of my old science fair project titles, a drawing, Chinese takeout menu and some other unproductive office decor.

While Flipping threw an old parts diagram I discovered more confusion and blood.... or oil.

I did end up favoring the cover looking more like a textbook/parts book. In my opinion it favors the idea that when you open this book you will learn something.

cover designs

So unfortunately I don't have any pictures to post for this week for either blog because I have left my camera 2 hours away. So, as soon as it gets mailed to me I will post up my pictures taken from a few days ago, Let's hope that's by Wednesday or Thursday. Regardless, I do have my cover drafts. So here we go. And again sorry for not having the other photographs :(

Dangerous places usually have dangerous things hiding in drawers.... right? I always wanted to open it. Couldn't bring myself to do it.

These images don't really hold any personal history to them. I don't think they are as strong as last weeks images either. Bout they are images that I have considered showing in multiples on a single page. For example, a page full of anchors or a page full of gears. It's just a thought right now but I like the idea of mixing a personal narrative with just interesting shapes and a sort of patch work of images on a single page.
Unfortunately because I worked so much this week I didn't have much daylight to work with so alot of these images are altered in photoshop.
